Fire Rated Enclosures for Zone 1 areas

Abtech’s range of fire rated electrical junction boxes as designed for use in hazardous areas. Available in both stainless steel and GRP, these have been independently tested in accordance with BS EN 50200, BS 8434-2 (up to 950 degrees C) and IEC311 (up to 750 degrees C).

When installing essential systems such as emergency lighting or fire safety controls, great emphasis is placed upon the fire survivability of the critical components such as fire dampers, actuators and cables that are contained in the area.

Abtech has many years of experience of ensuring the fire survival of junction boxes. Both the SX and BPG ranges are designed to be fire resistant when fitted with ceramic terminals. These have been tested for periods exceeding the required 120 minutes during which they are exposed to both mechanical shock and water spray.

We have supplied major projects worldwide with fire rated junction boxes including the Channel Tunnel, Dartford Tunnel and the Tengiz Oil Refinery in Kazakhstan to name but a few.

In addition, Abtech’s stainless steel high voltage enclosures are designed to withstand extreme temperatures of up to 1100 degrees C when coated with K-Mass thermal protection.
